VERACRUZ, Mexique, 450-750 ap. J.-C.
Smiling, seated man, 29 x 17.5 x 6.5 cm, terracotta. Seated male figure, arms outstretched, legs spread. Cheerful face with full cheeks, cap-like hairstyle worn across the head, decorated in bas-relief with a decorative motif, earrings, twisted necklace, well-marked navel. The eyes are almond-shaped. The head has a trapezoidal skull, flared and flattened, typical of smiling figures. Two vertical grooves can be seen on each side. Perhaps it is a simplified representation of a headdress. The man is naked but wears ornaments and ornaments, revealing his high social status: leaf-shaped jewels around the ears, a necklace with a pendant and a belt. The roundness of the belly is well restored, the navel has been figured and the sex is hidden by a loincloth
